I had the touristy of tourist days this past Saturday in Paris. Thanks to Armelle (@caeteramoda) who walked around all day with me! I said it before and I’ll say it again. I love IG for making me friends around the world.
I wanted to get my cliche blogger pictures so on my list was the Louvre and the Arc de Triomphe but Armelle ended up showing me so much more. We met at the Louvre and managed to get a picture with no tourist in it despite it being very hectic. The museum architecture is so MAGICAL and vast, it looked like it stretched for miles. Armelle said it actually was less hectic then normal especially for a Saturday which is probably due to the holidays. If it’s usually more hectic then that then I definitely chose the right time to come! Next time I will go inside because I definitely want to see the Mona Lisa.
Afterwards we headed towards the Arc de Triomphe which was about a 25 minute walk. I preferred to walk so I could see more of the city. This was the first time I had really had a chance to walk around a lot since being here. On the way we got stopped by a pigeon man who grabbed my arm and made all these pigeons fly on top of me. Real fear guys! He was like a very weird pigeon whisperer man. He was controlling the pigeons and was even able to make them create a heart shape. Afterwards he tried to charge us 20 euro! What a scam haha but I know tourist are paying him so get your money pigeon man!
We then continued our walk to the Arc de Triomphe and on the way Armelle told me about all the different areas, it was like getting a free tour of Paris! We passed all the beautiful designer store windows and the spot where Princess Diana passed away. We eventually ended up on the Champ Elysee which is an iconic area in Paris and also where the Arc de Triomphe is located.
After a lot of walking, we found a random Italian restaurant and ordered truffle ravioli which gave me all types of life. Light yet hearty and the perfect portion. On another note, I love that France feels a bit warmer then London so it’s a lot easier to walk around for hours without your toes feeling like they going to fall off. By the end of our time together, we walked 6 miles ! I have to make it a point to walk more when I get back to LA cause all the walking I’ve been doing during my time in Europe has been doing me good. I feel so much lighter and leaner!
Hope you all are having a happy and Merry Christmas and Holiday! This is the first time ever that I am not home for the holidays but my mom will be joining me in a couple days to celebrate the New Year in Paris and I could not be more thrilled!!
