When you think of Four Seasons, you think of 5 star luxury. I’m happy to report this sentiment is true. We had the pleasure of staying at Four Seasons Resort Hualalai on Island of Hawaii and our experience was more than I could ever imagine. As soon as we drove in, we were greeted by name by the valet and welcomed with a traditional Hawaiian Lei made of fresh flowers that smelled amazing. While checking in they met us with a refreshing drink and cool hand towels. I love that the resort experience began even before we were officially given our room. We were also given a tour of the property which is just absolutely stunning and vast. We made a stop at their Cultural Center where you can participate in various activities and learn all about the history of the island.
Nestled right on the beach you have the option to swim in their various pools, or to dip right into the Pacific. They even have a “man made” beach area that is basically blocked off from the rest of the ocean so you can have the feeling of swimming in the deep ocean without committing (if you’re a little apprehensive of the ocean like me). The resort really caters to all walks of life. I love that you could have a family vacation, honeymoon, wedding all in the same resort, and because of how it’s laid out, no one seems to be interrupting anyone else’s vacation. I’ve never stayed in a resort this large before that felt so peaceful. It was really refreshing! Even though there were many people staying at the hotel, it really felt like we had it to ourselves.
I love how they built around the natural scenery of Hawaii. It’s nestled around volcanic rocks from thousands of years ago. It really gives it a feeling like none other. Although the island is made up of Volcanos from many many years ago, only 1% of the island is affected by the current volcano eruption. It is about 100 miles from the resort, and has not affected many tourist destinations at all. It’s still VERY safe to visit the island, don’t let the media fool you. We drove all around and everything was normal. But honestly you don’t even have to leave the resort if you don’t want to.
Between the multiple restaurants, exquisite room service, the most comfortable beds, the ocean at your toes, activities such as paddle boarding and even their own snorkeling pool called King’s Pond, you can stay entertained on the resort for DAYS. Oh, did I mention the olympic pool in the gym? Full workout area? Rock climbing, tennis and basketball courts? Spa with your own private cabanas and Reflexology Pond? (Seriously I could go on and on!) I really wish we could have stayed longer. I guess that means we will just have to come back!
When it comes to hospitality, Four Seasons Resort Hualalai is top notch. They really know how to make their guests feel special in an authentic way. They go above and beyond to give you the greatest vacation experience and I’m so grateful we were able to experience this magical place during our time on the Island of Hawaii.
Until next time! Mahalo!
