Off the main road in it’s only little space in the desert lies Joshua Tree Acres. The most genius idea I have ever encountered for a quick getaway. Behind a coded gate lies a group of airstreams that circle a common area where all campers can interact and enjoy each other’s company. If you are looking for a weekend getaway to escape your busy life this place is perfect!
I was so obsessed with the decor of this place, they really do it up. You’ll feel transported right back to the 70’s in these highly stylized airstreams. Every detail is take care of and of course it a great place for a photo opp. I was really surprised at how they were able to make the small space feel so cozy and comfortable. We chose the “Piece in the Sky 1975″ airstream and they managed to fit a king size Casper mattress in it which was beyond comfortable. Nothing like the silence of the dark night full of stars and a comfy bed!
In the middle of the lot is a little “village area” equiped with a bathroom with shower, indoor seating area with a record player, outdoor dinning table, an area to sit by the fire and indoor and outdoor kitchen area and grill. The airstreams do not have any running water so you do have to leave to go to the bathroom or cook anything but it’s all within the same gated lot so it’s not that bad. The only thing is if you need to pee in the middle of the night it’s a bit scary because it’s so dark and you have to walk outside but that makes for a more authentic camping experience if that’s your vibe. I’m not much of a camping girl so this is the most I would do. 
On the way home we headed to Pioneer Town which is about 20 minutes from the airstreams. It’s a cool little faux town in the middle of the desert that is PERFECT for photos. I honestly don’t know what elese they have to offer besides the small gift shops we saw while walking around but if you’re ever headed to Joshua tree its a cool little stop along the way that will have you feeling transported to the Wild West or even better, WESTWORLD! (love that show)
