When looking for a spot to have a babymoon in the winter it wasn’t very easy. Everywhere warm had Zika and everywhere else was not warm. Once of the fail proof places to have your babymoon is Hawaii. Warm year round and no Zika…winning. Hawaii is one of our favorite destinations anyway so you really didn’t need to twist my arm.

What is a baby moon? For those of you who may not know it’s just a trip couples take for themselves pre-baby. It sounds trendy (which it is) but honestly it’s really nice to take time for yourself as a couple before everything becomes about baby. Its a really nice time to just enjoy each other’s company and was so worth it.

We had the pleasure of staying at the Four Seasons Hualalai again which is always a pleasure. The resort is absolutely stunning. The first time we stayed here last year we didn’t really get to experience it much since had so many activities planned so this time we decided to just relax and stay on the resort the whole time. Best decision ever.

When we arrived we were greeted with leis and I love that you always get a welcome drink upon arrival and a check in that is personalized and not at the front desk. Upon entering our room, the hotel knowing it was our baby-moon left us some treats. Some macaroons as a welcome snack, some belly butter, a pregnancy pillow, and little stuffed toy and bib for baby girl. They did all this without asking and it was so sweet and welcoming to walk into. Our first day we just chilled out and ordered room service enjoying it on our ocean view balcony.

The next day we had brunch at Ulu Ocean Grill on the property, normally we love to do room service for breakfast but we decided to head out and enjoy the view while we ate. I’m so glad we did because the Buffett was so good and fresh!

After breakfast we hung out at one of the beach cabanas which are first come first serve. They pop up to give you shade and also a little privacy. We sat there for hours enjoying light bites and virgin pina coladas. They have a server that stops by and a menu you can order from so it’s super convenient. It was so nice to just relax by the water and do nothing. Danny even took a nice little nap. We haven’t done that in so long, it made my soul happy.

Later we got changed and had dinner at Ulu Ocean Grill which totally transforms its menu for dinner. They specialize in sushi which unfortunately I couldn’t have but Danny got the short-rib and he was raving about it for the next few days. I ordered the calamari and a bunch of veggies and when I tell you everything tasted so fresh I couldn’t believe it. The waiter, who was amazing, told us that they get most of their ingredients straight from the island including the meat and you could really tell by the quality.

The next day we took a little dip in the adult pool and just enjoyed a room service breakfast as we said goodbye ot our ocean view and got ready to check out for part 2 of our babymoon.

A huge Thank you to Four Seasons Hualalai for taking care of us. It’s always such a nice experience staying at this gorgeous resort. I completely recommend staying here if you visit the big island!
